128,000+ well-maintained miles and suddenly the engine behaves like it's missing on two cylinders with matching loss of power + gear-stick vibration and "electrical smelling" smoke coming from right hand side of engine towards the rear. Smoke also appeared in passenger compartment, maybe from the air vents...but looked like it was coming from the area of the stick shift housing. Dash instruments not indicating any problem, oil pressure OK, Alternator generating, and temp OK. Shut engine off and had a tow back to home base. Before heading to garage mechanics would appreciate possible causes for the problem. Thanks! Richard Cooper.

Hmmm, not much to go on, but best guess would be blown head gasket, between the 2 rear cylinders on the pass side, #6 & 8. open the radiator, fire it up, look for bubbles in the coolant when you jack the throttle. do a compression test.

Really nothing on the engine in that area to cause this. Maybe a spark plug wire getting cooked? Note the computer is in this area in the fender. Doesn't sound good at all.
