I just tried to replace the tensioner pulley on my 6-cyl and after several pretty good attempts. I couldn't loosen the bolt holding the pulley on. The shop manual only suggests replacing the entire pulley assembly. I just want to make sure that the bolt holding the pulley itself on is removable, and that isn't a left-handed thread or something. I can pull harder, but didn't want to until I checked. Is there threadlock on that bolt? Is it stamped? TIA

You were absolutely correct! Thank you very much. That could have made a 10-minute $18 job into an all day $200 job. Hey 96 owners.... MARK YOUR MANUALS! That pulley is reverse threaded! (I suppose the idler pulley is too... I dunno). Thanks 67CAMAROSS. Pete
