I posted the original topic earlier this week about my car backfiring. Though the car is in need of a tune-up, several friends have recommended the A/C Rapidfire plug. Is this overkill for a stock 350/300HP motor? I have a '69 Z11.

No - piston crowns melt due to lean mixtures at full throttle. The worst thing the fancy plugs do is to drain your wallet unnecessarily.

i put a set in my new 350 motor, they did as advertised, starting is better. and they run clean too. the other good thing is that they will work with a hot ign setup like a MSD and so on the split fire's will melt from a hot ign. that is my .02. oh i just swaped out the break in plug's for the rapid fire plug's.
