I have seen several times that the 1970 1/2.and the 1971 Z28's did not have air condition. In 1971 after getting out of the military I purchased a 1970 1/2 Z28. It had the 350 engine with 330 hp, automatic transmission, 410 rear-end and AIR CONDITION. It was black with white stripes and houndstooth seats.
I liked the car so much that when I retired from the Virginia State Police I purchased a 1971 Camaro with a 307 engine. It was gold with black stripes and sandlewood interior.
Over the years the color was changed from gold to black with white stripes and houndstooth seats. The 307 engine was replaced with a 350 with 400+ hp. The only things that are missing is the Z28 emblems. Since it is not a Z28, I will not put those emblems on.
My 5 yr old granddaughter calls it her car.. Some day maybe but at 73 yrs old I still enjoy my 50 year old camaro.

If your 70 Z/28 had a/c, it was dealer added, or owner added. No Z/.28 in 1970 or 1971 model year had A/C from the factory. Now, you COULD have bought a 72 model year Z/28 in late 1971 with A/C.
Also, a 1970 model would have a 350 hp rating. 1971 was 330 hp rating. Someone could have swapped air cleaner decals or something of that sort.

It was a 70 1/2. My uncle owned a chevrolet dealership and his son worked there. My cousin wanted a corvette demonstrater.but his dad said no. So my cousin got the camaro wit a b out every option that a corvette could have. I now have a 1971 that has a/c that had a 307 and I changed it to a 350.
