I was told by a friend that the evaporator housing from a V8 firebird is the same as a big block chevy housing. Does anybody know ? Sorry to ask a pontiac question but a lot of other parts interchange and these seem impossible to locate. My Camaro is a 68 as is the firebird. Thanks.....Billy

Yes, the actual evaporator case is the same, although there are differences in blower resistor, and evaporator itself.

What's the evaporator difference? I bought what I was told was a B/B evap and box. The return side of the evap does bend toward the engine, as it should, but the hairpin from the POA valve to the suction hose is shorter than the AIM shows, and does not bend toward pass fender. I've seen a couple of pictures of nicely restored B/B with A/C, that show the longer tube.
