Hi has anyone added an Inertia Fuel Pump Shutoff Switch to automatically shut the 12v power to the fuel pump off in the event of a collision? I am thinking of adding a switch to my intank fuel pump installation and mounting the switch in the trunk but not sure if the switch needs to be mounted in a certain direction to work.

Any help appreciated.

I grabbed one out of a Furd and have it trunk mounted the same way it was factory installed.I use it to interrupt the relay ground ckt.

When I installed a very loud audio system in a Mustang I found out it had one of those inertia switches when we cranked it up to 12 on the 10 dial (and also found out my DD Ranger has one too) and if used and have something like severe tire shake you may need to reset it so put the switch in an easy to access location and if being raced have the crew members know where it's at because if you are on the starting line and it trips off then they can reset it.
