I am going to run an autometer fuel level gauge, can I use the stock sender and how many ohms should the gauge be rated at for the stock sender? The car is 1968, I would appreciate any input.

What does the guage say it needs?

Autometer makes gauges to work off of various senders from Ford, GM, Chrysler, etc...

Usually, the GM standard is a 0-90 ohm sending unit with corresponding gauge.

George is correct, I am using an Auto-Meter fuel gauge with the factory in-tank sending unit and it works mint... Good luck!

Thanks guys, the plan is to use an autometer guage within a console cluster. 90 ohms it is.
