I have long wanted to get my alternator out of the spotlight in my engine bay.

This is just not a happy deal for me.

Relocating it to the place where most of you probably have a power steering pump would be a much better situation ... in my mind.

To that end I found the Alan Grove bracket which moves it to the area I want. Problem then is the front cross member of our Camaros just doesn't leave room. Not to mention the sway bar.

I am contemplating the possibility of fabricating a stock power steering bracket into an alternator cradle.

The Alan Grove bracket pivots from the top and swings down ... making it hang too low for the car. This P/S bracket would have it pivot at the bottom and swing outward.

I don't imagine I am the first to think of this relocation ... Does anyone have prior experience with this sort of idea?

I have the CS130 alternator in hand. It is substantially smaller than the SI

I should add: Even with my current set-up is have very little adjustment movement. I don't imagine I would be any worse off if I do as I have planned.

Nice looking set-up there.

I'll want to keep mine on the D/S, but what you have there is very good.

Edited to add: Not sure why this illuded me before just now, but "Epiphany Moment"

I never tried just flipping the Alan Grove bracket upside down from the illustration.

Now I need to dig that bracket up again, not sure where I stashed it.
