my 69 currently has an under-dash gauge cluster with AMP gauge, not Voltmeter.

I am replacing dash gauge carrier with an aftermarket unit and would like to go back with Voltmeter not Amp meter.

My question is do the wires that go to the amp meter currently, which are hot from the battery, connect to a voltmeter?????

Any info would help...

I agree with what's been said. I'd recommend tieing your guage to an IGN source instead of ACC so you can see the battery voltage while cranking the engine.
