Bump the comp. to 11:1
At lease bowl work the heads
Throw a Super Victor and a HP950 w 1" open spacer.
1 3/4" headers on motor, 1 7/8" will be ok on spray.
Cam should be in the 250s, look at the flow #s and int./exh. %.
This should make for a honest 550+hp 406.

cheers would 11.1 comp be ok on pump gas with a late ivc. do you think the lift should be in the .570 net, and split pattern with spray, will i lose to much down low for the street, (I suppose every things a compromise)

Same motor here but you have better heads 215 Vs. 200 and headers 1.75 Vs. 1.5,same stall, tranny, and gears too.
I just went SR and am dialing in....my poor tires :D

I would like to see what others suggest before I say what I'm running ;)

11:1 will be fine with a cam thats 250/260 dur. but check your DCR to be sure. You cant get enough lift, especially with good heads, so run as much as you can on the street. 620-630" shouldnt be a problem with good springs. 1.6s on the intake and 1.5 on the exh.
I wouldnt worry about low end, it will make up for it by about 3000rpm it will be there.

i agree with 67rs502....GOOD FLOW IS WHY A MOTOR MAKES HP.
basically same engine with more SCR(12.5:1?) and 20 more cubes and solid roller from erson was split pattern 630/643? lift 268? at .050 I think 302?dur exhaust cant remember exactly and i had 680hp...I found out that more exhaust duration and lift was the key to my motor making the power it did. ran good on the street just had to ehmm..'clean it out' every once in awhile. my next will be 383 hyd roller around 565 lift and 255/267 duration...11.1 push my luck...try to keep DCR around 9.5....

not changing codes but a while back went over to team chevelle and asked ud harold on a spec, his thoughts were a solid roller 282/290 @ 20 , 251/259 @ 50, 597/597 gross, 575/575 net, & 110 lsa, his own grind. (for a novice like me) a man of his calibre & knowledge, sounds the way to go, just would appreciate all of your advice, thanks.

Very close to what I'm running.

UDHarold knows his stuff, and I would listen to his advice.
