For folks looking for different seats for their 1st gen Camaros, I just installed some leather buckets from a 89 Chysler LeBaron convertable. Found them in a local yard for $50. Must be pretty good leather cuz after sitting in the sun and rain for who knows how long there are still almost perfect.
I had to adapt the original seat tracks to the buckets with a piece of 1/4" x 1 1/2" flat bar but it was pretty simple.
They look pretty good. They recline and are very soft and comfortable. Not a whole lot of side support because of the softness although they look like they should.
I was looking at a new Chrysler Sebring convertible the other day. The shoulder belt of the 3 way seat belt is incorporated into the seat, the leather was as smooth as a baby’s butt and as I was sitting in them I could not help but think how nice they would look in my 67. I think the back seat would be very easy to put in as well. Does any one have an idea what it would cost to reskin a backseat with the same leather if that wouldn’t work?
Now if I could just find a donor car, or maybe one that was left at the local convenience store running..... kidding.
I'll keep my eyes out. I am sure that someone has to wreck one sooner or later.
$50 bucks well spent in my book. Maybe I can find a killer deal too.
Wow, they look pretty cool in there Joe! Are you going to change the color or anything?
I still drool when I see how you mounted those gauges in the upper dash! I gotta do that.
I'n planning on dyeing them after I drive it a while to make sure I like them. They are comfortable, but a bit on the soft side. It's a lot of effort to dye them!
Thanks for the compliments!
I don't know about netscape issues with Hobbystage.
