Hello I am having a hard time figuring out how to install the rear speaker boxes with insulation. They are apparently all the same 1970-1981. We are restoring 1979 Camaro and redoing entire interior. It did not have this part but I believe this will be a big benefit to have these for the sound. Can anyone help?

Pictures would help but going from memory I think they were held on with a "speed nut" to one stud somehow centered on the speaker magnet. I should post a disclaimer as I worked on new Pontiacs in the late 70's And I don't think I've messed with a second gen speaker since.

Jeff is correct. The carpet pad, insulation "box" was suspended under the rear speaker (on my 1975) from a center mounted stud with a little speed nut holding it on.
I will try to grab a picture when I get home from work.. The original speaker has long since deteriorated and black goo leaked all over the speaker frame. I have since replaced the rear speakers with new ones..
