ATTN: Mods - Q on Images

When I try to post a image, only the hotlink shows up, instead of the image embedded in the post. I'm pretty computer literate and a I'm mod elsewhere but I'm puzzled. What's happening?

I'll assume you are trying to display a pic hosted elsewhere that doesn't block remote displaying. Also that you are displaying a graphic (.jpg/.gif) and not a graphic displayed in a web page.

Are you using the IMG tag?
Code:
Note I'm using } in place of ] to break the image tag...
[img} http://www.camaros.net/navbar/family.gif[/img]
That's all it takes to display a graphic file. Note we don't allow html code in the forums, just vB code. Here's more on it... http://www.camaros.net/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode
Thanks for the reply. Yes, just .jpg from a host. The } may be the culprit. But I was simply using the normal <insert image> icon in the reply window, so I hope the } works...

The } won't work I just used it to show you how a image should be. If you are using the "insert image" button and placing the full url in (http:\\your link here.jpg) and it doesn't work the host is the reason. A lot of image hosting sites don't allow displaying pictures they host in other sites...

Just to get comfortible take this link and in a reply cut and paste it into "Insert Image" see that it works... http://www.camaros.net/pnwcc/DjD/dpreview/blue.JPG

Then try it the same with a pic you have hosted somewhere...
Thanks. I'll try in a bit. I'm out and on the blackberry. My host is Photobucket and I link the images routinely on other sites.

Jim
Yep, image tags issue...
