Well after having a few discussions with my wife, she wants me to put my Camaro back on the road so that we can enjoy the car more instead of letting sitting in the garage and only running it a few times a year.
So things started running through my mind on what is the best way to use what I already have to make things work for the street. My wiring was all gutted and I made my own harness for just the components I needed for racing. The big concern was how am I going to get brake lights and turn signals again, so after doing a search on Google, I found my answer, a trailer brake kit. Very simple to hook up and it works with the integrated brake light/ turn signal. After getting that hooked up, I hooked up the back up lights and the running lights.
Next for exhaust, I'm using Dynomax 3" race bullet mufflers. My neighbor uses them on his Monza and I liked the sound, so I decided on using them.
At first the plans were to use M/T 33 x 18.5 ET Street tires but I caught flak wanting to cut open, in perfect condition, my GM quarters and stretch them, so I decided not to use the 33's. I did some talking with PROZ11 about his build and tire size and that helped me decide on going with M/T 29 x 18 radials which fit under the car with no problem.
I traded in my 5 gallon fuel cell for a 12 gallon cell with sending unit. I made a new gauge cluster that included a fuel level gauge so now I now how much is in the cell instead of using a stick..LOL
I'm measuring for a new rear end and it should be around 44" wide. I plan to get another S&W nine inch Ford housing and this time it will be braced. Then I need to order new Moser axles.
I hope to order this stuff sometime in June or July.
If anyone is in my area, I'll have a 38-1/2" Ford nine inch with 35 spline axles for sale, set up for ladder bars.
