I have a 69 with front power disk and put a used original MC in it (original). I had brakes that worked but they were low before grabbing. The rod is the correct length for the MC (deep bore). They suddenly got worse and I removed the MC and bench bled it again and then bled the whole system again. The brakes seem to sporadically grab a little when pumping and then I lose them to the floor again... Is this a bad MC? or could it be that intermediate valve that hangs from the Power booster/MC bolt (not proportional valve)? When bench bleeding, each port seemed to push fluid back into the reservoir ok. Are there any rebuild kits out there so I can keep the correct one installed if it is the MC?

Hmm did you check the bores...the slightest scratch/wear its no good..
Did you hone/ re kit? again these days not normal practice
Good practice is get re sleeved (stainless, or replace with new

Do not forget,,,
Dicky or suspect brakes .......people die
Hopefully the person playing with dicky brakes and not some inocent kid or their parent.

And if it is the person in their camaro...woose still the camaro is damaged.

Sry about being blunt, but thats what it boils down to.

The trouble with brakes is in eveyday usage they maybe ok, come that 1 off emergency stop...extra loading, then they fail.

MC was not rebuilt, but is original. Sat for years. and don't worry, I don't take chances... Have owned and fixed over 125 (mostly Muscle) car's I've owned since I was 18.

I may throw a $16 rebuilt MC in to see if the issue goes away and then go from there...

The rebuilt MC I purchased for $19 didn't help, so I bled the system using my buddy's vacuum pump system he was hiding from me... Cleared a lot of crap out of the front calipers and I now have brakes!!!! I'm going to get one of those systems since you can use it by yourself....:hurray:

I would be pulling the pisons out od the calipers and slave cylinders and clean everything right down
If a lot of crap came out and the bleeder is at the top...scarry.
