I installed the "correct autozone" pcv valve in my 74 / 454. It seems to allow WAY too much vacuum. It is almost like an open vacuum line.

Does anyone know of a PCV valve that is more restricted ?

This motor idles much nicer when I plug the current PCV valve closed, but I doubt that's a good idea.

Suggestions ??

They are rated by the amount of vacuum necessary to pull the pintel onto the seat at idle vacuum.
An AC-736-C was often used in GM's big HP Hydraulic Cammed engines, it might be a good first choice.
If that doesn't do it, try an A/C-Delco CV-746-C (sold as a #PV-746C by Fram) this should get you by for very low idle vacuum engines.
