want to convert to ls1 front brakes. Will my drum hubs really work? Also what else is needed for the swap. I have original 4 wheel manual drums. Can I reuse my MC? THanks guys

by the way its a 1969 camaro

I know of one way to do it:

Buy a "hybrid" c5/c4 bracket from either Speedtech or Touring Classics

Use a C5 caliper abutment bracket (basket)

An LS1 caliper will mount on the C5 abutment

Use a C4 rotor

Use your drum hubs, but usually the flanges need to be machined down a bit in a lathe so they fit in the rotor hats.

I'm almost sure there are other ways to accomplish this - this is just one way.

BRP Hotrods sells a complete kit for installing LS1 front brakes on a first gen. They also have a rear brake kit.

Well I'm going with the ls1 brakes because I didn't have enough clearance when I checked on the c5 conversion. If you want big brakes do not go with Smoothie II wheels :)

what i had to do wwhen i did this intsall on my 68 firebird was grind down those fins on top of the calipers so that my 15's would fit over them, and they did great. just grind those fins down smooth to the caliper and my 15x4.5's fit fine.
