I have a 69 Z28 which currently has BF Goodrich Radial TAs. The fronts are P215/70SR15 M+S and the rears are P255/60SR15 M+S. The fronts are fairly new but the rears need replacement with the right rear showing much more wear then the other. I feel the appearance of these rear tires are too large and would like a slighly smaller tire. I also like the idea of someday having the same size tire on all four corners, but at this point I'll just be buying the rears. I'll stick with the BFG Radial TAs but I don't necessarily need the M+S. Any suggestions on sizes? This vehicle is strictly street and rarely driven and I want the original look. Note the wheels are the original 15x7 rally.
Thanks

I am also looking for the right tire combinations for my 69 SS 396. I ran
across this website which has several
69 Camaros for sale (http://goldenclassics.com/3357/MVC-001F.JPG)
take a look at this car. I like the way it
sits and the tires fit. I was in Clearwater
and visited the showroom. This car has
P225/60R15 front and P245/60R15 rear. It
looks as though it may have smallblock
springs on front as tires are far up in the
wheel wells. Let me know what you find as I
am also looking.....

once you decide on the tires or just want to search manufacturers by tire size check out WWW.Tirerack.com. I bought my tires significantly cheaper than even summit would sell them. Summit would match their price (they are both in Reno) but TireRack doesnt have any handling charge (ups shipping does apply - I paid $7 per tire across one zone)

I have a 69 Z and have been researching this as well. The original size was E-70-15 which was 26.6 inches tall. I have BFG 215-65-15 which are 26 inches tall. 225-60-15 are 25.62". Good luck.

my '69 has what came on it when i bought it, which is the 15" rally wheels with flat caps. i'm not sure if these are 7" or 8" wheels or what the back space is. on them are b.f. goodrich radial t/a's 235/60r15 front and back. i have just a little scrubbing on the passenger front if i go lock to lock with a passenger. with just me in the car, no scrubbing at all. with the big block in the car and pretty sure factory springs, the cars sets pretty level.

I have 215/65/15 and 235/60/15 BFG's on the front and rear respectively on one of my '68's. The height is the same for both tires, but the front is slightly narrower. I like the idea of having 235/60's all the way around for a better look. I have a small block in mine. The other '68 I just bought has 225/70/15's all the way around and I don't like the way it looks. The tire rack is the way to go. I've saved lots of $$$ with them.
