Guys and gals:

I am looking to put an overdrive tranny behind a 540 from T and L engines http://www.tandlengines.com/chevy_big_block2.html#Anchor-54-53968 making 700 hp and 670 lb. ft. of torque. BTO, Art Carr (at least two of them?) and others say they can do it and many on this site are skeptical. I know there is the earlier thread regarding BTO and some issues there and most think they will resolve the problem like good companies should.
The questions are does anyone think putting an OD behind a motor like this can be done successfully and who shouold I work with to have the best opportunity to succeed?

Thanks for the help

I'd trust a 2004R from any of these 3 behind a motor with that kind of power, in no particular order. I have a BTO L3 behind my 383 and it's fine - but these guys below really specialize in the high HP applications.

It ain't gonna be cheap!

Also, Jakeshoe, who posts here occaisionally, might be able to build you one as well. It's worth an ask.

Yes I was checking into Art Carr via a google search and now I understand why there is Art Carr and "The real Art Carr" I assume the real Art Carr is the one to talk to? I called this morning and they are closed on Saturday's. Left a voice mail.

You are asking about the REAL Art Carr here, aren't you??

B/c there are two of them.

Art should know for sure imho is why I ask..
