Hi, I am purchasing a 1970 Camaro with a 350ci CI engine from the original owner who states the engine is original to the car. The Engine Plant Stamping Codes on the front of the block are the correct ones for the car and dates are appropriate.

The issue is this. The partial VIN stamping is not on the same pad as above. Any thoughts? Is it common for it to be missing? Or stamped somewhere else?

Thank you!!

Correct and since they were stamped into the rough casting it can be difficult to read. Some LA built cars were stamped on the pad, all Norwoods should be by the filter

Hello, I own a 1970 Camaro with a 350. The block stamp is behind the driver side cylinder head right where the transmission mates to the block. The number code on my block tells me that the block was made between 1969 and 1979. I do not know how to see if it matches the car.
