My 68 Firebird originally came with A/C but I completely removed the A/C in the engine compartment. Now I have a block with 3 wires that was attached to the top of the suitcase. Since I am only using the heater can I get rid of all of the wires coming through the firewall and attach the wire going to the blower motor to the heater wire that comes out of the dash bulkhead connector?

Nope, most of those wires coming thru the big rubber grommet are for the 3 (or 4) speeds of the blower motor. The block on top of the suitcase is the blower motor resistor and you need that to run the blower motor on low and medium speeds. You also need the relay that is mounted infront of that block to control the fan on high speed.
