I'm rebuilding a 350 small block block # 10243880. an looking at putting in a 108 degree LCA cam with a 68 to 75-degree overlap, and thinking a 280 duration. also gonna put heads that would be as close to the EQ 23 50cc heads but not so pricey, still haven't found any. but i was wondering if i would be running into any kind of problems with this setup. i'm looking to have it run performance street/little strip. i'm looking for a compression of atleast 10.4:1

any and all help will be grateful. Thanks

AN Isky 280 Mega cam with 232-232-108 lsa would give you about 64 degrees of overlap but you will need some good gears, 3.73 or more, a 4 speed or a 2500 stall.to make it streetable. I would rethink the overlap number and go for an Isky 270 Mega cam 221-221-108 lsa and you will be much happier its performance on the street.

well, i was actually looking at the tremec tko 5speed. and was looking for gears around 3.55 for a bit more torque. the heads i'm going to be using i found on summit
PN CCA-12335-01. do you think that would accomplish my goal without causing damage, or am i goin to end up twisting the frame or something??

OK, let's look at this, this a way..

A 260 cam likes about 9 to 1 CR; (258/260/262)

Isky's good old 264 Mega like's about 9.5 to 1 CR;

A 270 cam likes about 10 to 1 CR; (268/270/272 and even up to 274 old-school, Crane's old 274H06)

A 280 cam likes about 10.25 to 10.5 to 1 CR; (CC's at 10.25 and Isky's at 10.5) and a

290 cam right at 11 to 1 so go from there.
