After looking at the porting I'd begun I realized it would've taken me a month of Sundays to complete my heads due to lack of time. Between work and the trans stuff I knew if I wanted to get out and race I'd have to make a move with them. I had a port done that flowed 305 CFM @ .700" lift, and the exhaust was nearly done too. I packed up the heads and titanium valves (2.10" Manleys and 1.60" Del Wests with coated face) and off they went to a friend in Kansas who finished them up for me. I was pleased with the flow numbers when done, as we wanted to keep a smallish (sub-220 CC) intake runner volume due to the small size (331") of the engine. To make just shy of 700 HP we knew we needed about 300 CFM with my camshaft to get there. Here's the final verdict on them:

4.125 4.00 exhaust(NO PIPE)
.200 160 151 109
.300 218 207 158
.400 262 251 183
.500 292 280 188
.600 299 294 200
.700 309 307 203

You can see what the bore size can do to flow numbers as well. He did not have a 4.030 fixture, so he used his 4.00 and 4.125 ones. The numbers should fall between the two shown with my actual engine. The exhaust numbers are probably at least 15 to maybe 20 CFM shy due to being flowed with no pipe attached to the ports. He has each cylinder within 2 CFM. Here's a quick photo of the heads and a chamber:

In short, I'm more than happy with the work. Chad Speier is who I had finish them. I've known Chad for years, and he's run NHRA Comp Eliminator stuff and is just wrapping up a new Econo Altered with a little 4-cyl SB2.2-headed engine in it. If anyone would like to know his contact information just email me and I'll gladly pass it along!

If you look at their advertised numbers.. they are stretching the truth a bit.. especially on the exhaust side. I'm looking to make just shy of 700 HP and hope to run 8-flat in my dragster. This engine will make about 75 HP more than my old one which ran 8.30.
