I just got my car back from the paint shop, and it is awsome!! everybody that has seen
it tells me that it is the straighest and best looking around. The body is perfect not a ding or crease anywhere. There shouldn`t be I put almost all new sheet metal on it LOL!! I don`t plan on putting it in too many shows if any, but would love to see it on a magazine cover or in a magazine. How would I go about doing that?

Have a professional photographer take some pics. Create a small portfolio of the best pics, do a write-up, and send the package to the mags. That's what one guy in our club did.

As you are probably aware, your car won't get into a mag just because it has a good paint job. You need a very good interior and engine to make the cut. Good luck!

Hot Rod and Car Craft have websites that you can paste your car onto a front cover. This was discussed a while ago. Maybe try searching in Bench Racing for the post.

Well, at least your goals are realistic...and not having seen the car, I would say, you should call the editor and offer them lots and lots of money, and then MAYBE they will consider it, Seriously though...

"A good paint job doth not a cover car make"

P.S. Most magazine cars are shot at major shows like SCS, Goodguys etc...

BMANN.....hello from a fellow hooooosier in Atlanta!

As a former Goodguys Rep, and a column writer (JACK'STANDS) for Southern/Northern Rodder Magazine I am afraid that just sitting it in the garage and not parleying it around won't get you a cover...or anything close to it.

Most, if not all covers and inside feature shoots are taken by exposure to national shows and the such.

I will tell you that my Dad's 55 that I built for him made it on the Paddock's front page, which they are out of Knightstown and a vendor, but still an honor. He became acquainted with these guys last year and bought alot of parts off them. Take a look..



The Paddock is always looking for cars to photo and have their own shows in Knightstown on certain Saturday nights.

Also, all of Goodguys, HotRod and others pretty well get acquainted at national shows. I would think that the James Dean and Duck Tail run would have national coverage that is in your area.

If you will email me I will talk to you about Northern Rodder Magazine and where they will be and how to approach them, perhaps you can get discovered! No promises, just information.
