I have a 67 Camaro ragtop. With a 350 and Holley 600 carb., and muncie 4spd. For the last couple of years,I've had a crackling, snaping (popcorn) sound coming from my exhaust. From what one mechanic says, he believes it is unburnt gas accumultating in my exhaust. He has tried adjusting the mixture on the carb, with the help from his scope and computer but says it is difficult due to the rough idle I get from my carb. I have checked the exhaust for leaks, found one, and fixed it. But the noise is still there. The popping noise is less when I first start the car, and the car is cold. But when it gets going, thats when the popping is the worse. It only happens when I back off the accelerator. It never does it when I'm accelerating. Any solutions or comments would be helpful
