I have boiled a fuel problem down to the in-tank fuel pump. Who has changed one of these recently so I can avoid some pitfalls? According to the manual, you virtually have to dismantle the rear end to get at the tank. Any pointers or tips? Thanks. goose

Get the rear as high as you can. the tank filler is very long and part of the tank. Get all the fuel out of the tank first.

I had to undo the panhard bar, take off shields drop tank, undo hoses, pull tank out.
Around 90 or so chevy started to put a baffle in the tank to prevent starvation under cornering with a low tank. Check for the baffle, and check if it is coming loose. I haven't seen one, but my 92 blazer had one and it came loose. It was held in by three pegs coming out of the tank floor, it was held on by three washers that had a sharp edge on the back. Your kids trycicle has better "push nuts" on it than this setup.

Also, undo exhaust behind cat and undo exhaust hangers and let the exhaust hang to give additional clearance.
