What do you use? Not that dirty but I would like to clean it up a little, especially near the valve covers.

I've used Spray Nine on my whole engine and rinsed it off with a hose. Works pretty good.

Spray Nine is an industrial strength multi-purpose cleaner. If you have a "Do It Best" hardware store in your area they should have it.

It's been three years since my frame off and the car hasn't been under the hose since then, any other ideas?

I treid Simple Green on mine a while back, and it works great to cut through oil and grease scum, plus it is biodegradable. I am sure there are more powerful cleaners, but this one doesn't cause my neighbors to call the "green" police on me down here in So. Cal. Give it a shot, should be at any grocery store, works better than you'd expect.

I will second the simple green. It is a very good cleaner for everything. ANother product I have found to be amazing is "Barkeeper's Friend", but I'm not sure if it would work on an intake. It did wonders on all of my trim pieces.
