I was a little nervy about this but once the shock is out, and compressing the spring with a spring compressor, and just removing the two bolts on the lower A arm, it swung right out. Spring compressor was $40 at summit.
It took about 1/2 day for me but I am no mechanic. 1.5 hours of that was tyring to fish a bolt I dropped into the subframe. At $80 per hour at the shop maybe 3-4 hours?
I just replaced mine last week. The original quote was $160.00 plus $80.00 for an alignment. Just to compare, I went to PepBoys and they wanted $200.00 to do the front springs. Before you do it, if you are not sure of the condition of your ball joints, make sure to ask how much to replace a ball joint if required. I got dinged another $120.00 to remove the A-arm and then tack weld a loose lower ball joint that was recently replaced by another shop.
