need some help, my temp gauge in my 1968 camaro with console gauges is actting up. with the key on the gauge pegs out on the hot side ,i desconnected the green wire at the sending unit and the gauge goes to cold sidewith key on , ground the wire at sending unit and pegs to the hot side so i replaced the sending unit and it still doing the samething. the gauge is new and checks out ok.now here is the kicker,if i remove the resistorat the back of the gauge it will do just the reverse (i.e.) will go to cold side and peg out all the way past cold when i ground it at sendingunit. what do i need to check to correct this problem. i just dont know where to go from here. i need help thanks

This has come up before and the sender needs to be one made by Standard, part #TS6. That sender seems to be the one that works well with these guages. Otherwise you need to adjust with the value of the resistor to work with the sender you have. Do a search on this, I believe the resistor values have been discused before.
