Hey...

I'm wanting to convert to an RS front end.
What are the list of parts needed to do this... I'm wanting to know so that I can get them used and not have to pay alot for a new kit. If you know the parts needed for the back end then list those to please!!

This can realy help me out... Thanks

Actually, a kit may be the easiest way to go.
This conversion with cost big $$ any way you go about it. But here is the list...of what I can think of....

RS Grille
RS fenders (or weld on brackets)
RS headlight buckets
Headlight cover door assemblies
Belcranks w/ hardware
Actuators <--- extremely hard to find and the repops don't always work
Actuator shields
Vacuum tank
Vacuum relay
RS headlight switch
Hoses for actuators
RS tail lights
Valence mounted back up lights
new rear wiring harness

Well....thats all I can think of...

You talked about how hard the actuators are hard to find. I have a 68 RS and I have found a catalog / parts book from a friend and it is wonderful, I swear by it.
It's from NPD (National Parts Depot) They have a branch in North Carolina, Florida, Michigan, and California. The 1-800 # is for
NC---800-368-6451
FL---800-874-7595
MI---800-521-6104
CA---800-235-3445

There ya go, almost everything you can think of in that parts book. When you call just ask for a catalog and they will ask for what kind of car and it's done. It took me about 2-3 weeks before I got mine. Small time to wait for easy access to all the parts you need.

Just try and get actuators.....I was told there was a 1 year backorder cause the repop manufacturer can't make any that work. Are you saying you bought actuators from NPD that work?

I have been looking over 6 months for a set.

Classic Industries of Huntington Bch, CA sells the complete conversion kit for around 900.00. But everytime I buy stuff from there, everything I want is back ordered.
