It could be that since you just started your car the battery is a little low and the alternator is charging at that voltage. Mine does that and when I start driving it the voltage goes down as the battery takes a charge. Also did you check it with a DVM meter or are you looking at the gage in the car. Double check the voltage with a meter just to make sure.
