I can not figure out what is wrong my my 67 camaro with a 327. Since i had a edelbrock performer and 650 holley installed, It will not run right at all. It runs rich all the time, I've tried getting it tuned, but they cant stop it from running rich, itfloods after 10 minutes or so, and unless i idle extremely high, i lose oil pressure. I just recently found out that the parts that were put on are used, and came out of a hot rodded s-10. I believe possibly the jets could have been changed. Any idea's on what could possibly be the cause of this, and any possible solutitons.

The first thing to check for if using that manifold and a square bore carb (all four barrels about the same size) is if you have the 1/8" steel plate between the manifold and carb. This is Edelbrock #2732 and uses a gasket on each side of it. The purpose is to eliminate a vacuum leak at the secondary side of the manifold because the manifold fits square bore and quadrajet style carbs. I have seen MANY of these leak if the 2732 plate isn't used.

This would cause you to have to idle high and would allow little adjustment to the carb at idle. Basically if it idles at all, it does so poorly.

A blown power valve will do the make it run rich. Holleys are famous for blowing the power valves. The power valves are normally held closed by manifold vacuum and designed to open as the manifold vacuum drops. I check mine using a small suction cup on the back side of the valve with a vacuum pump. I smear a small bit of oil on the cup and put about 15" of vacuum on it. If it's blown you'll know it because you won't be able to pull a vacuum on it or it will bleed down fast.
