Hi

I have a turb 350 with a detent cable. I think the trans is a mid 70 version.
Do I need to hook this cable to the throttle on my Edelbrock carb or can I
just leave it off? And if I have to hook it up to the carb any suggetions? Will it affect my trans if I just leave it off?

Thanks

you will want to hook it up. If you go to elelbrock.com, it's fairly easy to find the bracket in the carb accessories section, then just search that at summit or jeggs and buy it.

The cable controls your shift rpm (along with the transmissions governor)

Without it, you won't have any automatic downshifting (passing gear) which is no big deal, but... at part throttle the trans will upshift too soon, and very harshly because it thinks you are at full throttle all the time.
