Hey Guys, I just Won a Ebay auction for some Disc brake spindles, (complete with caliper bracket, calipers, roaters, master cylinder, booster, proportioning valve all used off of a nova. looks like its a little worn.
But I got it all for 250.

Do you think I got an ok deal?
What do you think? I am sure I will replace the calipers and rotors and use my new master cylinder and get a new booster.

Sounds good. I gave 250 for the spindles and everything on them from a 72 Monte at the junk yard. I was able to use the rotors but I bought rebuilt calipers. I'd have those rotors checked out to see if they can be turned. That would save you a good bit.
Are you converting from manual drums? The fun begins with the brake lines!

If you are doing a restoration to original, you can get the booster rebuilt/replated by a guy in CA for under $150. You can get the master cyl rebuilt,too. I know there's a place in VA that resleeves them, there are probably others, as well.
The booster guy is Steve Gregori (559) 875-0290.

Yep they are from a 68-74 Nova.
Thanks for all the info! I have Manual Drum Brakes. What all will I have to do to the lines? besides move them a little forward for the booster?

You should only have to bend the lines to get them to fit. If you want the installation to look original, you will need to buy the correct DB lines and frame brackets. Otherwise, your ready to go.

PS - definitely replace the rubber hoses at each wheel.

I replaced all the front brake lines but ran into hassles with getting the right fittings. I also used the 72 Monte's combo valve. Most of my problems got solved when I got a correct set of front brake lines specifically for the conversion of manual drum to power disc and a bracket to hold the prop valve from D&R. After that I was able to use a couple of my old MC to distribution block lines but I still had to have one fabbed. I didn't have much success with the cheapy double flare tool. Fortunately I found a shop that did that quick & cheap.
