Hi Everyone,

What is the correct position for the cylinder #1 plug wire in relation to the window to adjust the dwell?

Let's say the window is at 6 o'clock
This is a stock engine, point dist.

Thanks,
Tim

Not sure in relation to window, but if you take the cap off, there is two casting bosses that extend to the outer edge of the distributor, the one to the front is the correct location for the rotor to point to when Number 1 is firing, the one on the opposite side is number 6.
I think # 1 is the first counter clockwise from the window, or by your 6:00 oclock number one will be 7:00.

The rotor points toward number 1 spark plug/cyl on most GM engines. The wire on the cap would be on that line.
You could put them anywhere, as long as the rotor is pointing at #1 wire on the cap, but the GM way is pretty foolproof and a good way to go.
