Have a 69 that currently has 15" vette wheels on it and BFG radials - 235/60's up front and 255/60's in the back. Running a 350 with approx 350hp, a Tremac TKO and a 3.73 rear with slapper bars.I'm looking to add a set of Weld Superlites and some street slicks. What would you guys recommend for weekly street cruises and weekends at the track - drag radials or ETStreets? Also, what size tire should I be looking at here - I want max size without any rubbing at all.

Go with the ET streets for sure. Maybe a 26x10.5", or a 28 depending on how much gearing that 350 will like. If it likes to rev, you want the shorter tire.

either one would perform equal i like the
drag radials the best at the track but
beware neither of these tires perform well
if caught on wet roads they are a real
handfull on wet roads.

I couldn't tell you whether the 10.5" wide tire would fit a 1st gen with out modifications. My tire guy said he can fit a 28 x 11.5" tire under my car with a 4.5" backspaced rim.

BTW, the ET streets will trounce ANY drag radial at the track. The ET streets have wrinkle walls and a softer compound than the DR's. The BFG drag radials can drive in the rain, my friend has them on his '98 Z28. But like I said, a DR isn't gonna hook like an ET street.

The M/T E/T street 26X10.5 has only 8.3" of tread width. I would go with the 11.5 which has 9.8" of tread. Either should fit. And I too like the E/T street over the drag radial for traction.

I run the Hoosier Quick Time Pro (basically an ET Street) in 27 X 11.5 for the track and Cruise nights. The hook great when warm. If you stick it when they are cold....hold on. I run a 454 with 3.55 gears. For normal driving I run BFG Radial TA's in 275 60 15.
