Hello,

A friend of mine recently bought a project 1968 camaro coupe that was built at the Los Angeles plant and he wants to know how to tell if it is an SS car or not. The car currently has a 454 big block, turbo 350 auto trans, 10-bolt rear, and column shift with buckets. Any information would be helpful!

Thanks!

The cowl tag wont give you much information on a '68. You have to look at things like the rearend (12 bolt) if it matches the car...multi leaf springs...if it was a 4 speed car if it has the Muncie style speedo cable location where it goes through the firewall...and other small details. If that 10 bolt matches that car, its not a SS like others said...
