Doing an LS swap with GMPP controller and harness. Need to run a wire from the GMPP load center (located in stock battery location) to the Walbro in-tank fuel pump. The wire coming out of the load center appears to be 12 gauge, not 100% sure. Thinking the wire to the pump should be the same size.

Can anybody confirm this for me?

Thanks

Wire size is determined by two factors the Amperage and the distance the load has to travel. The longer the distance the bigger the wire has to be to compensate for voltage drop due to resistance. The heavier the electrical load (more Watts) the bigger the wire. Here is a wiring chart that can help you figure out your wire size need:

You can buy automotive wire which is PCV plastic covered multistrand copper wire in a number of colors.

Though there are standards used in the marine trade, due to the shear number of circuits automotive wire has a number of different colors as well as different color stripes on a colored insulation to help identify the wire in a bundled circuit. For your car wiring you may want to consider different colored plastic sheaths to hoouse your auxilary wiring to distinguish oit from the factory wiring, as the plastic sheathing comes in a variety of colors and different sizes as well.
