I just installed the autometer console gauge panel with elec. short sweep autometer oil pressure, water temp, volt and clock. The clock and volt meter work fine, the oil jumps to 100 [pegged] when started and stays just as if the wire was grounded. I tried a new sending unit with the same results. The water temp sender is installed in the head and climbs to 250 and stays, I know this area is the hottest water in the block and am moving the sender to the intake. But the oil gauge has me baffled, does any one have any ideas or checks that I can do.. One time during the breakin [New motor build] the presure did drop to 60 and stayed until we turned the motor off, now its back to pegged when driving.......

update-I took the gauges out and began checking all the wires out seems that the ground spade ,connector on the water temp gauge was not making a steady connection in the gauge. Since the gauges were wired in series this also was affecting the oil gauge and they were trying to ground through the sending units ,after connecting to the post connector with a nut everything was fixed....finally
