If your'e still not sure if the engine is a chevy or not ask for guy for the casting number on the engine and go to this website http://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm . It should help you a little bit. I used it to tell if my engine in my Z28 was a 350 or a 305. http://www.mortec.com/ This websit was very useful for me. It should help make sure that the engine is not a chevy. I just hope you can use this. : )
I am going with Pontiac also. The underlying blue showing beneath the read is definitely Ponitac blue. The valve covers are little tall for a 400, so I am going to go with an older motor like a 326 or 389.
