Hello all - I just got an original tach for a 68 to go in my car. It did not come from the factory with a tach but I ordered a new harness from classic for the tach and console gauges. My problem is I cannot find a wire that plugs onto the single prong on the back of the tach. It is exactly the same style of prong that is on the cigarette lighter.

The terminal that plugs onto the cig lighter fits perfectly onto the prong on the tach. Since the wire is orange I assume it goes on the lighter.

Can anyone tell me what color wire I should look for to go onto the back of the tach? Is this a signal wire from the coil? I have looked in all of my books (assembly, Fisher, etc.) and researched on this site but nothing. HELP!!

It is the connection for the clock on the tic toc tach. You could just tie into the cigarette lighter connection as the clock requires a constant 12 volt supply. The tach is fed off of a contact in the plug in connector. I believe it is the brown wire. Good luck. T
