I've got a lead on a car local, the price is high compared to my goal's set at $15000.00.

I am and have had anxiety / second thoughts on buying a camaro.

Someone please tell me this is an asset and the financial decision is right:thumbsup:

We will see what happens this week.

It's only an asset at this point if you do not grossly overpay. If you pay $30K for what the market indicates is a $20K car, it is going to be a number of years before you are not upside down, and that is only if you do not have to invest another nickel in the car after purchase.

Guy's I'm going crazy.... Literally I think, seriously the anxiety is too much and I want to call it quits on the whole thing.

at 8am I have a feeling that I should go to the bank deposit the cash and...... wait for it.

Payoff my truck $4000.00, and then save back up and re-asses my situation in say 4 months.

I don't know why I'm having such a hard time. I know what I want to do and I know what I should do. This is killing me.

and Bill I love your car the logistics is something to be considered on my side.

This is a hard commitment and you have to be ready, no regrets. Otherwise, listen to the wise and wonderful Sparky, he speaks without forked tonge. :D

Oh, and thanks Sparky!

get your finance's in order first..( a must )
get a prescrition of lexapro..(just kidding of course)(great for anxiety)
wait for a new president to take office...(no harm intended if you voted for the one we have now)
then the right car will come along..(you might find a good deal as time goes on)
and all will be good...

I can see both sides - Life's too short to not enjoy something you want to do.
On the other side, cold feet, just like making the marriage commitment - make the decision to marry, and you're committed totally - no outs.

However, as with a marriage and vehicle ownership, Snowball Effect takes over.
"Must spend money to go faster and upkeep."

ahh !!! ..i remember the first time i spent money on a muscle car, talk about being scared...
being guilty of spending money when it should go to other things..(food,house, pay bills..)
when my neighbor didnt have a job and i came home with a 20 thousand dollar camaro..
i lose my job, now i have this freaking camaro, what a dumb mistake, how the crap am i gonna sell it and get my wife off my back...
we have all been there..just have a back up plan for all the worst situations you can imagine...
and then dive in and get your dream by golly.. you are a american and youve worked hard all your life, get your dream...you deserve it...

Well gentleman, the dream has slowly faded away. Atleast for a short time.

The car I wanted is in Bryan College Station just outside of houston.

However I just paid 4882.00 to payoff my truck. My truck note was $899.92 a month so in 5 months I'm going to start looking again.

The car I was going to buy is actually on EBAY. Harley Davidson colors with a 383 stroker. Interior needs some parts but the outside had $7000.00 worth of body work. He has it listed for 18,500 but talked to me personally and accepted a 15000K offer.

Anyhow this morning I deposited 15000 into my bank and just send almost 5K to ford.

Sucks I know but I think it's the right thing. I'll keep driving the Chally for fun until then.

You did the right thing. That was alot of money to pay monthly on a truck. Now you can put that in your savings. Make sure to check Craigslist too so you can look at it first hand. There is always some in houston or dallas area.

Yeap DIESEL's are not cheap, and I wanted mine paid off quick. So quick that last month I sent ford $12,000. this month I sent them $5,000. So now I'm free and clear.

That was $24,500 that I had saved up for the car but was putting priorites first.

Now I can save the money again, buy the Camaro and have money, as my wife would say to "HEMMORAGE" money into my tinker toy's....:D

Thanks for the kind words it helps.... Really it does, I am pretty upset.

Trust in your fellow Hobbyist, you will run across another camaro.

Just keep an eye out for one. You might even find one half the price, so you can put a bit of elbow grease to her to make her yours.
