I just installed a new 327 and it seams to be flooding itself when I try to start it. I am running a 650 speed demon electric chook (remanufactured), HEI, edelbrock airgap rpm intake, camel hump 462 heads, roller rockers, and a mechanical edelbrock fuel pump. When I get it started It runs ok but I feel the timing still needs to be set. Also when I come up to a stop sign it will pop and want to stall. Any ideas?

To advance it more would I need to push the HEI towards the firewall or the intake?

It still will not start I am guessing that I will need to pull the plugs and clean them off. I have the gaps in the plugs set to 45 but I may have the hei connected to the old points supply. It reads 12 volts and worked fine with the previous engine I had installed. Any more ideas?

Double check your firing order. You may have two plug wires switched.

1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 is your correct order.
