This is a carbed car correct? You just fouled your plugs and loaded your oil pan with gas from pupming the throttle to try to get it started.
Check your carb
Change your plugs
Check your plug wires
check your dist cap
Make sure your getting a good voltatge spark to your plugs.

And at all cost change your oil. if for some reason you get a spark in the crankcase you can blow all your seals out and possibly damage the motor seriously.

I know a guy that had his dist laiunch out of his hands while trying to put it back in with loads of gas in the oil pan while trying to figure out the problem.. Put as nice big dent in his hood and made a boom that would rival a cannon fire. Plus the fact it scared him half to death.
Poor mustang HEHE.

If you have an older Holley without the power valve blowout protection you may have blown the power valve. That will make it run rich. Just a suggestion.
