Stupid question. Are you required to use a return line when using elec. fuel pump? It's a 67, 406 with an early model 650 vac speed Demon. Idling too rich makes your eyes water. Would a return line help? and where would you put it.

It depends on your regulator. If it's a return style regulator you'll need the return line. It goes from the return port on the regulator to the fuel tank.

What fuel pump are you running? Some, like the holley red/blue pumps, have an internal bypass. Others have a specific port on the pump to connect a line back to the tank. Are you running a regulator?
I run a mallory 140 with the return-style regulator. If you think about it, it keeps the fuel flowing in the line even when you're sitting still. G-forces are a b___h to a drag car!

plugged and the other one goes to the carb. Is the plugged out-

It could be a dead head or return. You will have to find the part no. on it and look it up.
