I have gone to a 3/8'' fuel line in my '69 Camaro. I changed the sending unit to a 3/8 line also.
Now a full tank of fuel will read 1/4 tank on the (dash) gauge. 1/2 tank will read at 1/8 tank on the gauge.
And empty reads where it should at empty. The gauge is working but only in one fourth of the gauge.
I wired up the old sending unit and it works fine. I have tried several new OEM sending units and they will not read
correctly either. The senders were all tested with the tank out of the car.
Any ideas?

Newbie here but I would check the ohms on the sending units, I believe the stock 69 gauge is looking for 0 ohms empty and 90 full.

the arm for the float may need a slight bending so the gauge registers right. IDK what the full (arm up) ohm reading needs to be vs the down (empty) point of the arm movement is, but search should show that 411 noted in post # 2
