Hi guys
i have completed my ls conversion first run in the weekend everything great apart from fuel smell.now it only comes on after a few corners & sticks around for abount 5-mins or so. Now i am using a dse/rock valley ls tank that has the little vent tube top r/h corner but have blocked it off because i am using coach works fuel cap & vented filler tube.have seen too much fab vent system on here but am looking for a cheaper fix for now??.i am thinking of carbon canister but not sure how to plumb it up??? Has anyone done something simular that could but up some helper pics please. P/s hope you are all safe with the big weather bomb comming in! Cheers kabrka

What year car? The tank necks are different between them. Mine is kinda ugly but you really don't notice it. I used a charcoal can from a mid '80s Chrysler K car in the trunk and JB-Welded a nipple into the tank filler neck ('69 model tank). '67-'68 can use the Moroso filler neck sleeve with a nipple already in it. Ran a line from the elbow up through the trunk pan to the charcoal can, then ran a line from the charcoal can port that is supposed to hook to the intake back through the trunk pan and put a plastic fuel filter on it to act as an air filter.

This is on my old beater car and has been moved to another one but setup is the same, just a little cleaner now. I put the can in the trunk because my main concern was to have the lines higher than the tank to keep fuel from somehow sloshing up into the lines when the tank is full, then getting caught like in a sink pea trap and possibly getting pushed into the charcoal can. There are surely other places to mount it but this was quick and easy.

They are nice but 279.00 for a vent. I am having the same problem with the fuel smell on the DSE narrow tank.

I am going to try the plastic charcoal canister and mount it under the car above the tank. There are all kinds of charcoal canisters on Ebay. Just have to find the correct size that will fit.
