i have a 67 camaro and have new wiring. I have a black wire with white stripe and a black wire that are in a plug together that are hot that go to console but no power to fuse box. Do these wires send power back to fuse box. Thanks for any help.
The two wires mentioned are for the ammeter in console gauges.
One wire, the longest wire, will go to the battery junction block next to the battery and the other shorter wire will go to the horn relay buss bar, either screw.
The OE ammeter measures the amount of voltage drop on the red wire from the same two points.
If ammeter reads backwards, ie, positive amperage with just the ign key on IGN, engine off, then reverse the wires at the rear of the ammeter.
