I took the needle off the fuel gauge. Can't recall if it was empty/half/full.
Will this reset itself or do I guess where it was?
Should have taken photos cause I took this whole thing apart a long time ago. Help

Get a multi meter and measure the resistance at the plug. The stock gauge/sender reads from 0-90ohms.

I hooked it up last night. When I turn the power on it goes to full. Turn it off and it goes down a little but not back to empty. I will try the meter, but do not understand why it will not just work the way it did if I ooked it up the same. Wiring is not my thing.

It's not going to go to full empty. Mine drops about 1/4 of a tank when the car is shut off.

If you short the sender connection to ground it should be just under the E. A 100 ohm resistor should put it just over F.
