Hello all.. I am trying to install the rear leaf springs on my 69 Camaro. I am having problems installing the Del shackle kit frame bushings. I have been trying the threaded bolt method to pull the bushing into the frame but this is taking forever. Its not moving very much at all.. Seems like its really tight, I know it should be but this is rediculious.

Any suggestions on an easier way to get these bushing installed? Ok.. I think I need to remove these and clean the frame bushing area better. My question is any idea how to press out this half installed bushing without damaging the bushing?

thanks

They can be very tough to install. You can press it out using the same rod with a different arrangement of spacers, or sometimes you can knock it out with a piece of pipe, but you need to remove the fuel tank to it that way.

Clean the hole out as well as possible and spray some lube in there. Use a good size diameter of threaded rod so you can use larger/longer wrenches on it. a 1/2" or 5/8" is best.
